It is finally here. The 2010 International Film and Food Festival co-sponsored by A&O is about to rock your world.
On the 16th, you’ll watch Children of Heaven with PARS
On the 17th, you’ll watch Mee Pok Man with NUSAF
On the 18th, you’ll watch Ajami with ISA
PARS presents Children of Heaven. Nominated for the 1998 Academy Award for Best Foreign Film, Children of Heaven is a touching story about an Iranian boy who will go to the ends of the world to get his sister a new pair of shoes.
NUSAF presents Mee Pok Man. This 1995 film by Eric Khoo is a tale about the interaction of a noodle(mee pok) owner and a prostitute bunny.
ISA presents AJAMI. Also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film, Ajami centers around five different stories set in an actual impoverished Christian-and-Muslim Arab neighborhood of the Tel Aviv – Jaffa metropolis, called Ajami. The cinematography is brilliant and the action is nothing short of mind blowing. The score on Rotten Tomato is 97% and only movies like The Godfather get those kinds of scores on RT.
This is not a dream. This is reality. We are bringing you Oscar-nominated films and food from each of those films’ countries….
